Social media management packages in Kerala commonly start around ₹8,000 to ₹15,000 a month and go up to ₹35,000 to ₹75,000 or more for a full service with reels and paid ads. Ad spend is almost always charged separately.
Those numbers come from published Kerala price guides, including one by Kochi-based consultant Rajesh R Nair, and they match what most businesses here are quoted. The more useful question is what sits inside each price.
How packages are usually structured
Most agencies sell three tiers.
A starter package usually covers around 8 to 12 designed posts a month on one or two platforms, with captions and hashtags. It suits a business that simply needs a steady, decent-looking presence.
A growth package usually covers 15 to 20 posts, some short videos or reels, a monthly content calendar and a basic report. It suits a business that is actively trying to win customers online.
A professional package usually covers 25 to 30 pieces including regular reels, video shoots, community management and paid ads management across Instagram, Facebook and sometimes Google. It suits a business where social media is a main source of enquiries.
Post count is the wrong thing to compare
Two packages can both promise "15 posts a month" and be completely different products.
One may be 15 template graphics with a changed headline. The other may include a monthly shoot at your location, three reels edited for Instagram, and posts planned around your actual offers and seasons. The second takes several times more work, and usually does several times more for the business.
So instead of counting posts, ask what kind of posts, who makes them, and what they are supposed to achieve.
What a good package should include
Whatever the budget, a proper social media package for a Kerala business should include these things, written into the proposal:
A monthly content plan that you see and approve before anything is posted.
Original photos or video of your business, not only stock images. Say how often a shoot happens and who pays for it.
Reels, and how many. Short video is where most reach on Instagram comes from now.
Captions in the language your customers use. For many local businesses that means Malayalam, or a natural mix.
Replies to comments and messages, and how fast. An enquiry left unanswered on Instagram for two days is usually a lost customer.
A monthly report that shows enquiries, calls or visits, not just likes and followers.
Clear ownership: your accounts stay in your business's name, and you keep admin access.
What is usually not included
Ad spend is almost always extra. The management fee pays the agency to run your ads; the money that goes to Meta or Google is separate. Ask for a suggested ad budget and what it is expected to deliver.
Photo and video shoots beyond a set number, influencer fees, printing, and website changes are also usually outside a social media package. None of these are problems as long as they are written down before you sign.
Red flags in a quote
Be careful with packages that promise a fixed number of followers. Followers can be bought, and bought followers never buy from you.
Be careful with long lock-in contracts before any results. Three months is a fair period to judge whether the work is moving in the right direction.
Be careful if the agency asks to run your pages from their own account, or will not give you access. Your pages are your business's assets.
How to decide what to spend
Start from what one customer is worth to you. If an average customer brings in ₹5,000 in profit over a year, and a ₹20,000 package brings you ten new customers a month, the maths is simple. If you cannot measure where customers come from, fix that first, even with something as simple as asking every new customer how they heard about you.
The right package is the one where you know what you are paying for, can see the work before it goes out, and can tell whether it is bringing in business.
